Kia owners love their Kias, and a recent study from J.D. Power shows us part of the reason why! Beyond being a fun, unique brand backed by a company that cares about giving back, Kia vehicles were ranked #1 in an Initial Quality Study. What exactly does this mean? Kia owners reported the fewest issues with their vehicles within the first 90 days of ownership in the U.S. We’ve received this ranking over all other brands for two years in a row!

Additionally, Kia has been ranked the #1 mass-market brand for the sixth consecutive year. “Returning to number one in the industry and the top of J.D. Power’s U.S. Initial Quality Study among all mass-market brands for the sixth consecutive year is an enormous honor and a reminder to keep striving to be the best we can be,” said Sean Yoon, president & CEO, Kia Motors North America & Kia Motors America.

The Kia Forte and Soul were included in the top 10 vehicles in the industry overall. Four Kia models also received top honors in their segment. The Forte (compact car), Sedona (minivan), Sorento (upper midsize SUV) and Soul (small SUV) were ranked segment best.  “With 4 segment winners – and 4 additional models ranking among the top three in their respective segments – Kia’s ‘Give It Everything’ brand philosophy continues to bear fruit in the extremely competitive automotive market.”

These rankings are based on responses from 87,282 vehicles owners in regards to 189 vehicles in 26 different segments. Evaluation was based on driving experience engine and transmission performance and quality issues reported by the owners.
